While I was in LA I went to American Apparel and finally bought this ivory skirt that I have had my eyes on for who knows how many weeks or months. Definitely one of my new favorite pieces :)

Los Angeles

I got back yesterday from my weekend trip to Los Angeles with my dad. It was absolutely one of my all time favorite weekends! I have the best dad in the world. He and my mom are the top role models in my life, and I am so lucky to have them as parents :)

This is a (slightly blurry iPhone pic) photo of yours truly in the Universal Studios Prop Warehouse where they house everything from telephones and fake weapons to furniture that is used in the movies produced on the Universal Studios sets. The weather was slightly cool, but held for the first two days of my trip. On the last day, though, it poured and poured like nobody's business.

I have a lot of work to catch up on, so I'm going to be posting photos from the trip here and there throughout the next few days as I get around to them.

Even though yesterday was technically the first day of spring, the sun is nowhere in sight :( And Yahoo Weather forecasts that the rest of the week will be similarly dismal.

The weather is growse... again. I am so ready for this winter to be over!

These are the new boots that I got a few days ago because they were on super sale... I'm sure they'll show up in some outfit posts in the future (which will hopefully be soon... if the weather decides to cooperate).

Some inspiration on this bittersweet Saturday. I feel slightly guilty because I am having a beautiful, wonderful day, while halfway across the world there are citizens in Japan who are dealing with death and destruction caused by the tragic earthquake. Its hard to understand how such a duality can exist on the same planet. All I can do is be grateful for my health and safety, and pray to God that neither I or my family ever have to go through anything as horrible in our lifetimes.

The sun was blazing a few days ago when my brother shot this for me … and unfortunately it washed me out! But at least you can still see the dress :) I added a little red belt because I felt like it was just too plain by itself, which seems almost paradoxical considering the crazy print (that is actually much lighter in this photo than it is in real life).

Like a little burst of sunshine, this scarf can brighten up any outfit. I found it at a thrift store for $7 a few months ago, because it looked exactly like a scarf from Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 collection! It has a slightly neon hue that makes it almost identical. Bright accents have been showing up everywhere it feels like…

It’s almost officially SPRING! Look at the blooming flowers behind me! And the gorgeous sun!

I have finals this week... booo, which means lots of studying and not a lot of sleep unfortunately.

Sketch-American Apparel

Chiffon.

This is my drawing (VisualBasic-style) of an American Apparel ad (posted below) that I'm obsessed with and keep seeing everywhere. The ad is about chiffon -both the skirt and the top are made out of chiffon- which I am loving right now! I'm going on a trip to Los Angeles in a few weeks (part of last year's birthday present) and I can't wait to go to the American Apparel store and stock up on chiffon chiffon chiffon :)
