First day of fall 10.5.11

Fur vest: Forever 21, White shirt: Old Navy, Black leather boots: Target, Brown leather bag: Nordstrom

I could smell it on the crisp, cool breeze that sweeps up already-fallen leaves, then scatters them into puddles, formed after an overnight rain that scrubbed the earth clean. Chill nipped my bare hands, sending the first shivers of the season zipping up my spine. I sloshed my way to school, all the while wishing I could curl up in bed with a nice novel, a fleece blanket and a hot cup of tea.
Today it finally felt like fall.

weekender 9.3.11

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
A casual outfit (my Forever 21 jean jacket, a loose, sea foam colored Urban Outfitters tank, and dark wash skinny jeans w/ my tribal print bag from China and a flower hair accessory :)), for a casual Saturday. Walked through a vintage market and had amazing pizza and pastries from a cute little coffee shop with my mom and a good friend. What would we do without the weekend?

Lace tank 8.3.11

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Today I wore a lace tank top from Nordstrom Rack and a pair of black skinny jeans from Forever 21 (the ring in the first photo is also one of my favorites from Forever 21). I paired my light grey lace tank with a white tube top, not only because it best showcases the texture of the shirt, but because, well, you just can't wear this tank by itself. I love lace, I really do, but it can be tricky sometimes, as it is usually see-through, which makes it unwearable on its own. Choosing a top to go underneath a lace garment is more of an art than a science: it has to be just right. You can't have the color or texture of the undershirt take away from the lovely lace on top can you? :)

Flower Child

Jacket-Forever 21, Dress-Marshalls, Flower hairpiece-Charlotte Russe, Bag-Urban Outfitters

I have been on the hunt for a jean jacket for a couple of months now, and finally came across one in Forever 21's online store. I ordered it in a small, and it is still slightly too big, but I don't feel too badly about the fit because it wasn't very expensive. You know you've bought a great piece when you bring it home and can immediately and effortlessly start to make outfits with it :)

This color palette feels very 70’s :) The decade was huge on the runways for spring and fall!
My skirt and the outfit remind me of Gucci's Spring RTW collection, specifically my favorite look.
Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

It's starting to feel like summer! The sun has finally made an appearance, and allowed me to whip out some warm weather clothes like this light and comfy capri romper, which is simple and versatile and will be perfect for travelling.

Feeling Patriotic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Shirt: Random $10 store in Santa Barbara, CA; Pants: Forever 21, Headband: Charlotte Russe

My sister told me today that I looked like the fourth of July, which I took as a compliment because I LOVE this color combo! This outfit was perfect for the bipolar weather we had today. (This morning it was cold, overcast and raining and currently it's at least 70 degrees and sunny! Go figure.)

4.11.11

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Top: Lush, Jeans: Hudson, Boots:Steve Madden, Necklace: Forever 21

Loving this top :) I wore this to a school event that wasn’t too fancy, but called for something nicer than a t-shirt. I’m wearing an adorable chunky necklace from Forever 21 and a chunky cuff bracelet. The necklace has a mix of metals and so it goes perfectly with this black and brown outfit.

I am such a fan of chunky accesories. I feel like dainty accesories just get lost in most outfits.
Hope everyone got a little bit of sunshine today :)

Teal pants + new top

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Top: Lush,  Pants: Zara, Shoes:Target

The top that I'm wearing is actually see through, so I'm wearing it with a black long sleeve shirt from Forever 21. I love the way the chiffon fabric of this top moves; it's light and perfect for spring; and I love the cute front pockets.
If you, like me, are looking for a way to add color to your wardrobe, I'd suggest getting yourself a pair of colored pants. They are so versatile and easy to add into any wardrobe. If you're daring, try out the color blocking trend that is hot hot hot right now by pairing colored pants with an equally vibrant top. (Right now Zara has a lot of pieces that would be perfect to use, so I would check out their online store if you're planning on trying this trend out.)

Have a great Wednesday!

And my awkward attempt to demonstrate the movement of this top...

3/9/11

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The sun was blazing a few days ago when my brother shot this for me … and unfortunately it washed me out! But at least you can still see the dress :) I added a little red belt because I felt like it was just too plain by itself, which seems almost paradoxical considering the crazy print (that is actually much lighter in this photo than it is in real life).

Happy Wednesday! One day closer to the weekend!

Pop of Color

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Top- Forever 21 Striped Dress, Skirt-Zara, Scarf- Vintage

Like a little burst of sunshine, this scarf can brighten up any outfit. I found it at a thrift store for $7 a few months ago, because it looked exactly like a scarf from Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 collection! It has a slightly neon hue that makes it almost identical. Bright accents have been showing up everywhere it feels like…

It’s almost officially SPRING! Look at the blooming flowers behind me! And the gorgeous sun!

I have finals this week... booo, which means lots of studying and not a lot of sleep unfortunately.

Singing in the Rain

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Shirt- $10 Store in Santa Barbara, Pants- Forever 21, Belt- Nordstrom, Boots- (as if you haven't seen these already :)) Steve Madden

It was raining today, hence the umbrella. I seriously love this umbrella, not only because it keeps me from getting soaked on days like this, but just because it is so darn cute! I tied my skinny brown belt around my waist to give this oversized shirt a tad more shape. You can sort of see it peeking out from under my arms (that I just realized are slightly obscuring it in the photo above… oops ha ha).
I've been on the lookout for an umbrella like this one for a while, so when I randomly came across this one in some obscure pharmacy, it was hard to resist the urge to jump up and down at my luck :)

Red Pants

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Pants-Forever 21, T-shirt-Delias, Blazer-Nordstrom
Wore my red pants today! I pulled out this old t-shirt from the back of my closet to wear with them.
The weather was really gloomy today, and its only going to get worse tomorrow... I am so ready for spring and summer! Anyone else?

One of Those Days

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Sweater-H&M
Pants-Forever 21

Today was one of those rare, perfect days... I'm at the beach with my family for the weekend and the weather happens to be absolutely gorgeous and I happen to be wearing my new favorite outfit (above). Not to mention I got to spend time with my mom and dad and not think about school or homework or anything else. As you can see its past 11:00 pm and I am still up trying to milk this perfect day of every last second.

Cape Town

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Cape-Volcom (TJ Maxx), Pants- Forever 21, Boots- Steve Madden

So this is the cape :) The cape is Volcom brand but I got it at TJ Maxx (a discount store) for $20! It's pretty warm but a tad itchy because its wool. The shape is nice though. The cropped cut keeps short little me from looking like an overweight blob.

I love these cargo pants too! They're pretty comfy and such a nice green color.

Below is a photo of my outfit without the cape.

The top is from a store called Lefties in Spain (I am pretty sure its Zara's discount store, but don't quote me on that one). Can never go wrong with a nice black and white striped shirt :)

Parka Remix

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Parka- H&M, Top- Forever 21, Skirt- H&M, Boots- Steve Madden

This is my first remix of sorts. This is the parka from my last post, but this time I wore it with a floral top from Forever 21, a skirt from H&M, and my Steve Madden boots (are you sick of them yet? I know I'm not :)).

I haven't been able to post as often as I'd like because school/homework has been consuming my free time, but when I get the chance I'll take some more shots of my parka remixes and post them!

Aztec Romper

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I found this cute romper at Forever 21, and I really love the pattern. And the fish neclace, also from F21, ia cool too :) The earrings are from H&M and dangly and so much fun!
